Spottitt is Hiring: Business Development Manager

We’re looking for a Business Development Manager who’s ready to play a pivotal role in shaping our growth story. You’ll be the driving force behind new client relationships, opening up industries that have yet to realise the potential of satellite data, and turning opportunity into long-term success.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead the charge in winning new enterprise customers through a consultative, solution-first approach: building trust, uncovering needs, and designing strategies that solve complex, real-world challenges.

You’ll work closely with our leadership team to refine our commercial strategy, explore new markets, and ensure Spottitt continues to push boundaries.

And you’ll represent Spottitt in the world: at industry events, with partners, and with clients who are ready to see what’s possible from space.

What we’re looking for

You’ve got a strong track record in enterprise-level, consultative sales: ideally in tech, SaaS, or geospatial solutions, and you know how to navigate long, complex deal cycles with confidence.

You’re a natural communicator, commercially sharp, and motivated by the idea of making a genuine impact in a fast-scaling, innovative environment.

While we’re able to be flexible and would like to hear from individuals across the UK, we are ideally looking for someone in Manchester who can regularly attend our City Centre offices.

Core purpose of the role

To define, pursue, and secure new business opportunities that support Spottitt’s growth strategy. This role is responsible for developing client relationships, identifying opportunities, and delivering tailored solutions. The Business Development Manager will leverage industry knowledge, networking skills, and commercial insight to drive revenue growth and strengthen Spottitt’s position as a trusted partner within a range of sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales Growth

o  Generate new business through cold prospecting, outreach campaigns, and networking within various relevant markets.

o  Secure partnerships and expand the client base globally.

o  Develop and deliver compelling proposals and presentations, ensuring alignment with client needs and Spottitt’s capabilities.

o  Negotiate contracts and commercial terms, ensuring competitive and value-driven solutions.

Account & Relationship Management

o  Build and maintain strong relationships with senior prospects and customers, acting as a trusted advisor to clients.

o  Partner with internal delivery teams to ensure seamless project onboarding and long-term client satisfaction.

o  Identify opportunities for organic growth within existing accounts, maximising client lifetime value.

Strategic Insight & Market Positioning

o  Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and new opportunities within diverse sectors.

o  Monitor competitor activity and collaborate with the marketing team to enhance Spottitt’s positioning and brand messaging.

o  Provide input into commercial strategy, including pipeline forecasting, go-to-market planning, and service innovation.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Engagement

o  Work closely with marketing, and delivery teams to design tailored solutions that address customer challenges.

o  Support thought leadership activities, including events, webinars, and industry conferences to strengthen Spottitt’s visibility and reputation.

Key Measures of Success

o  Achievement of individual and team revenue targets.

o  Growth of Spottitt’s client base across target sectors and geographies.

o  Consistent delivery of high-quality proposals, presentations, and contracts.

o  Client satisfaction scores, including retention and repeat business rates.

o  Contribution to accurate sales forecasting and a healthy sales pipeline.

o  Increased visibility and brand recognition through networking and thought leadership initiatives.
